this past weekend i had Such and awesome ride with Sunny he loved the trails and the navigation even in the rain.

Tom, how delightful it was to have met you and your friend, Einstein. I was helping with the petting zoo and was unable to watch your demonstration to a surprisingly small audience. However, you were most gracious to entertain our questions outside the arena. I had won a beautiful paint filly last October. I had purchased 4 raffle tickets for this horse as a "joke" for my daughter who wanted a horse this past summer for her birthday...and I won this beautiful animal! I WON A HORSE??? What was I gonna do. When I learned that the registered name from this 7 month old girl from South Dakota was " Birthday Wishes " I decided to keep her. My knowledge of horsemanship was limited to some riding when I was in grade school in 1959. I learned about Monty Roberts and began reading and listening to his material. Then I met you...how appreciative I am for your firm but gentle partnership with these noble animals. I carry "Kodak" moments with me of that day in Sulphur, La. with the way Einstein responded to a remarkable man. Thanks.

stretching out

Saddle maker Johnny Ruff of Umatilla FL, brought his wife's horse over for a few days for tom to teach the gelding to stretch out for someone to mount, that someone being johnnys wife whom has had previous knee surgery and can not mount, because her knees. the horse being able to stretch out will make it possible for her to mount comfortably. tom was happy as usual to help and really did a great job.

This week Tom olive helped GiGi Ansell of Orange lake, FL and her 5 year old thoroughbred conquer some issues, such as trailer loading.

Hello all!!
This Blog is for all your "Tom Olive News" and for the people out there who would like to contribute a Tom Olive Story.
My name is Michael Shipman and I have created this blog to let more people know in and outside the Ocala equine community about Tom Olive. Tom has done so much to help my daughter Meagan learn about horses. As a father with a daughter that loves horses can be quite a challenge. Her safety around a horse is my first priority. Tom has taught her the right way to control a horse in any given situation, the right way to keep a horse's training in effect, How a horse thinks, reacts, and so much more that I will always be grateful for. Tom trains people as much as he trains horses; And from what I have seen, he does it better than any one else. A large part of the way I think about a horse has change from seeing Tom. A "problem horse" I know now comes from an untrained owner. Not the horse. A horse is just reacting. The owner either reinforces good or bad behavior. Period. Tom teaches the difference. Tom and his techniques in my opinion are an asset to this community. So for all the other fathers, mothers, trainers, foundations, and everyone else out there for whom Tom Olive has helped with improving their self understanding of the horse world; Kept horses fun and safe around their kids, here is your chance to let others know. Here is my contribution.

In today’s world, it is nice to find an honest, good-hearted person like Tom Olive.
Kudos Tom!!!
